Contact your creditor(s) and let them know of your situation and see what they offer up.  Once you have that offer, come back with one of your own that&#039;s a tad bit more agressive and then try to negotiate something in between.  Once you&#039;ve done that, do NOT send them a single penny until you get the offer in writing.  At that point you can move forward in settling your debt.</description>
