In a face of this rare attack, a UAW has one after another to say a silence. There is small disbelief that a kinship bureaucracy has already concluded to all of a concessions final involving a wages, benefits as well as operative conditions of a roughly 90,000 UAW members during GM as well as Chrysler. This would be in line with a decades-long process of labor-management “partnership,” in that a UAW has given up many of a gains won in generations of struggle. The usually genuine regard of a UAW is a tens of billions due by GM as well as Chrysler to a retirement illness caring certitude fund, that a kinship bureaucracy had counted upon as a remunerative source of investment income to equivalent a income waste ensuing from a detriment of two-thirds of a dues-paying membership.
Behind a scenes a kinship bureaucracy is in heated negotiations with a White House over what it can benefit from a carve-up of a automobile attention as well as a partnership in a heartless exploitation of automobile workers. This includes a vital tenure interest in a “new” automobile companies, whose share values would as if climb neatly after they dispensed with their grant obligations as well as alternative debts as well as had cumulative a swain stipulate from a UAW.
Among those enclosed upon Obama’s automobile charge force is Ron Bloom, a former partner during a Wall Street investment organisation Lazard Freres & Co. Bloom has worked for a United Steelworkers bureaucracy given 1996, advising a kinship as it collaborated with assorted billionaire item strippers during a dismantling of a steel industry.

No one. The workers are on their own. The sad part is that they have very little options. They can strike, but many won’t out of fear of losing what small bit of security (health care, semi decent wage) they have. They have been sold out by everyone, even their own leaders. If all workers, union and non union could pull together for just one week, we could shut this country down. I believe that is what is needed.
The concerned and caring administrators at the auto companies. And if that doesn’t work, Chuck Norris.
first thing they need to do is fire the unions / they are the worst money grubbing toilet bugs
No one. The working class in America has been construed as lazy and undeserving of living wages.
The government will give GM to the UAW.
Satisfied?
And then I will never buy another GM product again!
I think a much more appropriate question would be who will protect the american people from the UAW. And what about all of the workers who aren’t unionized? Unions are a monopoly and a cancer on american businesses. They’re really not much different from government employees, and we all know how productive they are.
The UAW is as much to blame for everything happening to the auto companies as anyone else.
No one will defend the American auto maker and its workers. God bless those guys because their on their own and its going to be a looooooooooong road for them
Yeah, and Obama is looking at a FOREIGN company to take stake in an AMERICAN company. Government has NO business in running private companies. This is a SHAM. ELITIST SHAM. Just because the workers do not have college degrees, doesn’t mean they should get paid pennies. My husband lost his steel job ($17 an hour in 1981) when the steel companies were overrun by foreign interests. No government bailouts then. Now, he in once again losing his job because the GM dealership is slated to close under the government deal. He is a finance/sales manager, with no 4yr college degree. His job options are slim.
The unions are have no problem in muscling companies and workers to do their bidding. They have priced themselves out of business because they no longer exist for the worker but just to put money in the union bosses hands.
you answered your own question, no one is going to defend them from a non-union standpoint…and apparently neither is union management. which begs the question, just exactly what are the benefits of organized labor if labor can’t trust or depend on their leaders, their leaders care no more about them than government cares about it’s own citizens. just as with the steel industry in this country, the auto industry is now reaping what it sowed. they will have to decide on their own just how willing they are to save their own jobs and livelihood and whether or not there will ever be "a big three" in world competition. this is another example of never depending on others for your own accountable actions. i truly sympathize with all the families and workers involved, but i now wait for their next move.
Ever worked w/in a union in the US?
The Mob will be offering to ‘protect’ the government if it simply allows the unions and their bosses to disappear because they will not be made unemployed and they won’t have to pay anymore taxes!
All laborers need to defend the UAW, or be prepared to become like the Chinese Laborers.
