I signed up with a debt consolidation company (solicited) by phone. How can I make them refund my $797?

Contact the Better Business Bureau, you can do it via Internet. I filed a complaint against a large cable company, and I got results within two weeks.
I had made many telephone calls back and forth with no results. I sent them emails and no response. Once I filed a complaint with the BBB they found the time to return my calls. I received a refund check shortly after. They wanted to offer me a special rate if I would agree to continue with the cable service. I told them they must think I am stupid after all the time I spent trying to get my money back from them.

no they lied. The name "soft ware" is given because it is not able to be held, kinda. A piece of paper, IS able to be held. HEnce, it is NOT spft ware. Keep calling them! Stay on their ass! Ask to speak to the manager, then ask to speak with their boss, etc.
Tell them that you have recorded the last conversation where they stated "a misunderstanding that spoftware meant a piece of paper" because that statement is crap! and that you will take them to court, etc. Just to get your money back.
