I am not sure if the credit cards are unusable, but if you are even considering a debt consolidation group, you should stop using the cards on your own. Why would you want to consolidate your debt and continue charging on the cards? Also with debt consolidation, make sure you pick a proven, legal company that does not charge you any fees for the service. Good luck!

If they won’t, consolidate your credit card debt with a loan. This type of loan allows you to payoff your credit card debt and rolls it over into a loan payment with a better interest rate.
